Adult Learning Disability and Autism Services

Within our learning disability and autism services, we provide person-centred services for adults with learning disabilities, as well as those on the autism spectrum.

Our specialist teams are experienced in giving support and respite for people diagnosed with learning disabilities, autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and are dedicated to providing bespoke community, respite, and specialist inpatient care, as well as  respect and understanding, to all service users across the entire region.

  1. Adult ADHD Treatment Services

    We provide a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Transitions Clinic which is consultant-led, to support patients through their initiation (starting medication), titration (slowly adding medication until therapeutic dose achieved) and stabilisation on ADHD medication. We then provide a nurse-led Annual Medication Review Clinic for patients with a non-complex ADHD need, who are in established medication treatment and under shared care with their GP (no age limits, once referral criteria met).

  2. Adult Autism Intensive Support Team

    We support adults (18+) with a diagnosis of Autism who are at risk of a hospital admission due to their mental health.

  3. Adult Learning Disability Intensive Support Team (IST)

    Multi-disciplinary community team, working with adults with a diagnosed learning disability. We work intensively in collaboration with the persons' core Community Learning Disability team, Social Care, family and carers to avoid admission to specialist hospitals due to mental ill-health and/or behaviours that may challenge and support improvements to the persons' quality of life.

  4. Adult Neurodevelopmental Services
