We are Smokefree
Welcome to our Smokefree Trust
Your complete health and wellbeing, that includes both your physical and your mental health, is vital to support your journey towards recovery.
Smoking is currently banned by law in all public indoor locations, and all of our hospital buildings are completely non-smoking throughout.
From 1 July 2015, we created a healthier environment for everyone and our Trust went smokefree, which means that staff, service users, patients and all visitors are not be allowed to smoke anywhere on our sites - including wards, grounds and vehicles.
It is more likely for people who are living with a mental health problem to smoke, and to smoke more heavily than the general population. However, people who do smoke have less mood stability, which is caused by withdrawal cravings between each cigarette.
There is lots of support available to everyone who smokes to help them live well in a smokefree life. If you are a patient or carer, please speak to any clinical staff member for advice and support or contact your local stop smoking service directly.
