  1. Meaningful appraisals All staff have an annual appraisal to develop a clear career pathway and identify the support needed to help you get where you want to go.
  2. Learning and Development Team From an induction focused on your wellbeing to a range of training subjects to support you in your role, the training team are here to support your development.
  3. Talent for Care Team Our dedicated Talent for Care Team is in place to support the development of new talent and existing members of staff at CWPT.
  4. Apprenticeships We offer apprenticeships from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) up to Level 7 (Master’s degree equivalent) and in both clinical and non-clinical subjects.
  5. Apprenticeship network The apprenticeship network is for anyone who is studying an apprenticeship at CWPT up to Level 4.
  6. Functional Skills We can support you to obtain your Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Functional Skills for Maths and English.
  7. Distance learning Distance learning courses are a great opportunity to expand your professional skillset.
  8. The Care Certificate The Care Certificate is a national requirement to be completed by non-registered clinical staff in a health or social care setting as a part of their induction.
  9. NHS ambassadors Our NHS ambassador speak to young people to inspire them to consider an NHS career.
  10. Talent management Talent management opportunities are for people in supervisory, management, and leadership roles, as well as those aspiring to be.
  11. Legacy mentor Our experienced legacy nurse offers tailored support and guidance to newer ward managers and leaders.
  12. Manager network The manager network is for all aspiring and current managers at CWPT.
  13. Professional Development Team Our Professional Development Team are available to support you in developing your physical health skills and provide a range of training courses.
  14. Preceptorship We offer a 12-month preceptorship programme for nurses, nursing associates and allied health professionals.
  15. Research and innovation If you're passionate about contributing to research, there may be an opportunity to get involved and help to carry out research studies.
  16. Quality improvement training and support The Improvement Team provide teaching, coaching, and mentoring to empower staff to make positive improvements.
  17. Psychological Skills Development Service Our award-winning Psychological Skills Development Service offers training for staff based on psychological theory.
  18. Library and information services We’re committed to evidence based practice and have four library facilities across the organisation.
  19. Coaching and mentoring We fully support the use of coaches and mentors, and it is a great opportunity to receive support and feedback on your work.
  20. Reciprocal mentoring Reciprocal mentoring enables people in senior positions to learn from and understand issues from the perspective of people in less senior roles from under-represented groups.
  21. Secondments We support secondments to allow you to learn new skills and explore other areas of work.
  22. Appraisals and revalidation - medical staff only All medical staff (doctors) have a medical appraisal once a year to offer a chance to reflect.
