Website Accessibility Statement

This statement is about our website:  https://www.covwarkpt.nhs.uk/

We are a Public Sector Body and answerable to The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). They are responsible for making sure that we comply with the latest law related to Public Sector websites.

We have tried to make it as easy as possible for everyone to use our website regardless of disability. This means that you should be able to:

  • use contrast buttons to view the website using soft or high colour contrasts
  • zoom in up to 300% without problems
  • navigate the website using only a keyboard
  • navigate the website using speech recognition software
  • translate each page into a different language
  • listen to the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We use plain English whenever possible to make our content clear and easy to understand.

Need help reading our website?

We've added a Languages button and an Accessibility button to our site that can be accessed on every page by the top bar. If you struggle with reading, have a visual impairment, or prefer to read in your own language, these buttons will be able to provide you with a more personalised experience.

You can also  get help by visiting My Computer My Way  published by AbilityNet. They have prepared a simple guide to make it easier for you to use your computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone.

How accessible this website is

At CWPT NHS, we must hold our Board meetings in public and share the papers online as a statutory requirement. These papers help the Board make decisions and check how the Trust is being run.

Many teams create the papers using different systems, so the full pack includes lots of formats. Some charts and tables come straight from our data systems and aren't fully accessible.

We use a tool (ADC Module) from our website provider, Verseone, to turn most PDFs into accessible web pages. However, board papers are very long and mixed in format, so the tool either doesn't work for them or would be a disproportionate burden to manually apply to these documents.

  • Some PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • Some PDF documents do not have heading row within the tags panel
  • Some PDFs have issues with non-text content

If you require help accessing any inaccessible PDFs, please contact email: communications@covwarkpt.nhs.uk

Technical information about this website's accessibility

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust is committed to host an accessible website, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status:

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 Level AA due to some exemptions.

Non-accessible Content not within the scope of the applicable legislation:

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they're not essential to providing our services.

Disproportionate burden - PDFs and other documents

  • Our website currently houses 1,100 PDFs and documents, of which many do not meet elements of the WCAG 2.2 criteria. We have assessed the cost of fixing the issues and we believe that doing so would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. Going forward, from June 2023, any new PDFs or documents (including replacements) will meet accessibility standards.
  • The Trust has commissioned a newly designed, accessible website which has been live since July 2025.
  • The communications team will provide accessibly PDFs on request, by emailing  communications@covwarkpt.nhs.uk

Beyond the Scope of WCAG Level AA:

  • Because of their formal content and medical terminology some web pages and downloadable documents are not written in plain English.
