Support for schools and colleges

Support for schools and colleges
We work closely with schools and colleges to provide enriching and inspiring experiences that give students an insight into life in the NHS.
If you work for a school or college, find out how we can support your students learning and future career.
Career events

Our Talent for Care Team are passionate about inspiring the next generation of the NHS. If your school or college is hosting a careers event, our team can share a wealth of knowledge with your students on different roles, and how to get in, get on, and go further in their healthcare career.
The team attend alongside our NHS ambassadors, who share their personal experiences and career journeys across a wide variety of roles. Whether your students are interested in becoming a nurse, an allied health professional, a psychological professional, or in one of our many support service roles, we're on hand to share a real insight into NHS careers.
Not only can we offer personalised advice and guidance to your students, but we also provide a range of informative hand-outs and interactive activities with us when we attend on the day!
Through your engaging talks and interactive sessions, you provided our students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of careers in healthcare in a meaningful and memorable way, and planted seeds of ambition and curiosity. We have received fantastic feedback from both students and staff, who found the day engaging and insightful.
- Kerry Moir, Careers Advisor, Bablake School
Mock interviews
For students who are transitioning out of education and into employment, interviews can be very stressful and difficult to navigate. To support these students, we offer our assistance to schools and colleges that want to run mock interviews. We offer interview advice and experience that will help students to develop their interview skills for a role in healthcare.
Please note, we can assist with mock interviews related to roles in healthcare and our Trust, but we cannot assist with mock interviews for roles in other industries and organisations.
W.A.V.E meetings (work experience, apprenticeships, volunteering and employability)
Our W.A.V.E meetings are a collaboration between Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, and George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. These meetings are for careers advisors and teachers to get the latest information about work experience, apprenticeships, volunteering, and employability programmes within our trusts.
Our health and social care course is so popular at GCSE. To have a representative from the NHS means so much as both the students, and the parents, are just delighted that they can talk to a professional. There are always so many questions about the roles and the routes in - and of course every role is different. To have the NHS on board at our event was invaluable and we, as a school, are extremely grateful that they give us their time.
- Marie Brennan, Careers Advisor, Cardinal Newman Catholic School
T Levels
We can support your students who are studying for a T Level by offering a placement to support the practical-based requirements for their qualification.
We offer these across our services, however students will need to be over the age of 18 in patient-facing settings.
We're passionate about working alongside colleges and other educational institutions in our local community to facilitate T Level placements, as a part of commitment to widening participation.
Sneak a Peek
'Sneak a Peeks' are insightful virtual sessions organised by the Talent for Care Team with support from our NHS ambassadors and other guest speakers, to showcase a snippet into the day-to-day experiences of different NHS careers. These are often themed around a particular career such as nursing, psychological professions, allied health professionals, and more.
We open these sessions to anyone who is interested in the role or service, including students, career advisors, and current CWPT staff.
