Icon  Disability and wellbeing network (DaWN)

People who are living with a disability can face barriers in all parts of life, including in the workplace. The disability and wellbeing network (DaWN) brings together colleagues across CWPT to share experiences, seek peer to peer support, raise awareness and influence change to improve the experiences of our colleagues living with a disability.

The network is open to all colleagues who identify as having a disability or long term condition, whether visible of invisible, that impacts on daily life. It is also open to people who are allies and want to learn more and support the challenges people with disabilities may face.

The network aims to:

  • provide a place for staff to receive peer support and raise concerns of ideas in a safe and confidential environment
  • promote a work environment in which all staff feel supported, valued and able to be themselves
  • enable staff to achieve their potential
  • challenge discrimination and positively promote equality
  • ensure that good practice and initiatives are promoted, shared and embedded within the Trust
  • provide a forum for discussion and debate which draws on knowledge and experience
  • act as a driving force o promote continuous improvement.
