Icon Functional Skills  

We can support you to obtain your level 1 and level 2 qualifications in functional skills for maths and english. You'll gain essential skills that are useful in everyday life and are often needed as entry requirements for further learning and internal opportunities.

A functional skills level 1 qualification is equivalent to:  

  • GCSE at grades D-G/3-1
  • key skills level 1

A functional skills level 2 qualification is equivalent to:  

  • GCSE at grades A*-C/9-4
  • key skills level 2

How to access 

If you work at CWPT and would like to apply for a functional skills course, contact the Talent for Care Team following a conversation with your line-manager at talentforcare@covwarkpt.nhs.uk. Learners will be required to undergo diagnostic assessments with the education provider to ensure that they receive the right levels of support.

  16. Appraisals and revalidation - medical staff only

    All medical staff (doctors) have a medical appraisal once a year to offer a chance to reflect.
  17. Meaningful appraisals

    All staff have an annual appraisal to develop a clear career pathway and identify the support needed to help you get where you want to go.
